April 23rd Still admitted to hospital…

Dominique’s platelets (blood clotting substance) declined to pretty much zero so she needed another blood transfusion today.  Her blood counts are still extremely low as her neutraphils (infection fighting substance) is at zero.  The docs have told us she needs a significant neutraphil count increase before we can go home.  This could realistically take several days.  Dom remains on antibiotics and continues to be on isolation meaning she hasn’t been outside of  her tiny hospital room.

On a brighter note, her blood cultures are negative which means she doesn’t have a bacterial infection.  Her fever, blood pressure and appetite have also remained normal.  All we have to do is get the child home to her semi normal life….

Time spent in the hospital on that day: 24 more hours and still counting…
